Interference
Mechanism of Action:
In the Nemec medium-frequency treatment, interference currents are created using two crossed circuits. The frequency of the crossed circuits is between 4000-4250 Hz.
At 4000 Hz frequency, the skin's resistance decreases, allowing deeper tissues to be stimulated.
Another advantage of interference currents is that they less irritate the sensory receptors in the skin, thus not causing discomfort or leaving skin burns. The utilization of the deep effects of medium-frequency currents and the effective stimulation of nerves for the body can be achieved using the four-pole technique. The two circuit effects are applied perpendicularly to the body, creating interference.
Treatment Procedure:
In our practice, the treatment is performed using plate electrodes. After freeing the treatment area, the patient comfortably positions themselves on the treatment table. The physiotherapist places the electrodes on the marked area of the body and gradually introduces the electrical current into the body. After the prescribed treatment time, the current is gradually reduced, and the treatment is concluded.
During the treatment, the medium-frequency current is used for its pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory, metabolism-improving, muscle-spasm-relieving, and circulation-enhancing effects.
Treatment Duration:
15 minutes.
Indications:
For the relief of pain in degenerative diseases of the spine and/or large joints, as well as in inflammatory rheumatic conditions (RA, SPA, tendinitis, tendovaginitis, bursitis, epicondylitis).
Contraindications:
Fever, acute infections, during menstruation in the lumbar spine area, thrombosis, damaged or inflamed skin, pregnancy, heart failure, cancerous conditions, implanted metal or prosthetics in the treatment area, patients with pacemakers cannot receive high-frequency treatment, severe high blood pressure, severe arrhythmia. In cases of pacemakers or prosthetics, it is prohibited to conduct the current through the affected area.
