Stable galvanic treatment
Mechanism of Action:
Galvanic current has pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory, and vasodilating effects. It improves the conduction ability of nerves. It causes local hyperemia, which results in skin redness.
It is used in musculoskeletal diseases, primarily for pain relief and to enhance blood circulation in superficial vessels.
During treatment, a tingling sensation and temporary skin redness may occur in the treated area. As a result of the treatment, blood circulation in the treated area improves, the absorption of harmful tissue fluids caused by inflammation accelerates, muscle tension decreases, and pain is alleviated. Since it causes local hyperemia, which results in skin redness, it is important not to scratch the area, and it is advisable to apply a small amount of body lotion after treatment!
Treatment Procedure:
The patient lies comfortably on the treatment bed, and the therapist places the electrodes as prescribed. During treatment, the current intensity is adjusted based on the patient's feedback.
Treatment Duration:
10-15 minutes.
Indications:
- relief of pain caused by joint cartilage degeneration
- reduction of muscle tone in conditions associated with increased muscle tension.
Contraindications:
Fever, acute infections, during menstruation in the lumbosacral spine area, thrombosis, damaged or inflamed skin, pregnancy, heart failure, cancerous conditions, implanted metal or prosthetics in the treatment area, patients with pacemakers cannot receive high-frequency treatment, severe high blood pressure, severe arrhythmia. In cases of pacemakers or prosthetics, it is prohibited to conduct current through the affected area.
