Stress-relieving massage
Mechanism of Action:
In the neck-shoulder region, a stiff, painful, and cramped muscle condition often develops due to sustained changes in physiological tone, triggered by heightened stress, a sedentary lifestyle, poor posture, or prolonged sitting. The constant static tension in the neck and shoulder muscles impairs blood circulation, as the contracted muscles compress the blood vessels within them, causing pain and further intensifying muscle cramps. Neck and back muscle pain often extends to the shoulders, upper back, and scapular area, and can even cause headaches.
One of the primary effects of massage is pain relief, achieved by relaxing tense muscles. In addition to easing tension, muscle cramps, and tissue adhesions, massage enhances the metabolism of the skin and muscles, helping to prevent future muscle cramps. It improves overall well-being, concentration, and provides a more favorable tissue condition. Beyond refreshing the muscles and skin, massage has a beneficial effect on the nervous system. During the massage, the parasympathetic nervous system is activated, promoting a state of relaxation and reducing internal tension. The treatment also improves the condition of the skin and lymphatic system. It results in a long-lasting, pleasant, and relaxed sensation throughout the body, positively impacting overall well-being.
Treatment Process:
The treatment begins with applying pressure to specific points on the neck while seated, followed by addressing the area between the shoulder blades. The spinal support muscles are treated using the thumb and then both palms. This is followed by kneading techniques in the neck and shoulder region. The treatment concludes with targeted stretching and bending exercises for the affected muscle groups. These exercises help restore the muscles' normal length and strength. The treatment ends with smoothing the scalp and face, followed by gentle pressure using fingertips.
